This is an amazing rich chocolaty cake made with Guinness and Chocolate. Irish recipe….Irish taste.
410g Caster Sugar
100g Dark Chocolate
250ml Guinness Beer
270g NEILL’S®Plain Flour
1tbsp Baking Powder
150ml Soured Cream
Add the Guinness, butter, sugar and chocolate to a pan and heat on a low heat until all the ingredients dissolve together.
Pour this mix into a bowl and allow to cool until luke warm.
Preheat oven to 180c
Mix in the eggs and sour cream.
In a separate bowl sieve the flour and baking powder together.
Add the flour and baking powder to the liquid mix.
Beat this mixture until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Pour the mix into two greased and lined cake tins.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 40-50 mins (use a skewer to check if the cake is cooked, if it comes out clean its ready)
To make the filling and the topping simply use the customisable frosting recipe found here. This should make enough for both filling and topping.
