Valentines Gift Guide 2014

Following on from your wonderful feedback (thank you!) you
gave for our Christmas Gift guide we published a few months ago we decided to
repeat our Valentines Gift Guide we published last year. We have selected just
a few of our favourite items this year which will hopefully give you some
inspiration on what to buy your Valentine!
Pretty much every lady in your life will love confectionary but they may also love some custom face pajamas too. What could be better than sitting in comfortable pajamas eating the finest chocolate?
Hotel Chocolat are well known for their luxury chocolates
and innovative flavours and they certainly have not failed to impress this
Valentines! There is a huge selection of gifts suitable for Valentines Day on
the Hotel Chocolat website, whether in the Valentines range or not. We have
chosen several of our favourite items this year to suggest to you. Our
favourite item from Hotel Chocolat this year is The Sleekster Valentine Selection (£24) which comprises of 24 luxury chocolates
such as Passion Fruit Truffles, Salted Caramel Cheesecakes and Champagne
Bellini’s just to name a few. These come beautifully presented in one of Hotel
Chocolat’s luxurious boxes. The second
item we choose was the gorgeous pink and gold heart shaped box called Love and Hugs (£26) which is filled with 19 incredible chocolates including
creamy chocolate truffles and oozy caramels to name just a few. Sure to bring a smile to your loved ones face
on Valentines Day! If you’re after
something quirky Hotel Chocolat also has some chocolate slabs in their
Valentines range. Our favourite is the So Good Together 200g Slab (£8) which is made up of raspberry and white
chocolate beautifully decorated with swirls and a honeymoon scattering of
raspberry pieces symbolic of rose petals, delicious! Another small and quirky item in their
Valentines range is their chocolate Lovebirds
(£11) which comprises of some intricately moulded lovebirds made of caramel
milk chocolate and some cute strawberry white chocolate hearts.
Rococo’s passion and drive to create the best chocolate
delights time and time again is inspiring and they have some cheeky treats in
their Valentines range this year! They
have a wonderful range this year but when we seen this item we knew we had to
share it with you. Not only is it a little bit cheeky but it is absolutely
delicious too! We chose the Venus Nipples and Lips (£14.95) gift box which contains 4 lips which are made of
high quality dark chocolate, coated in white chocolate and hand painted to look
like gorgeous red lips. There are also 6 coffee truffles representing the
nipples in the gift box. These coffee truffles are covered in white chocolate
and topped with a chocolate coffee bean. If you want something classy but a
little bit cheeky than this gift box is perfect.
Thorntons is another well-known and reputable brand known by
children and adults alike for decades, in fact Thornton’s recently celebrated
their 100th Birthday! Thorntons was set up by Joseph William Thornton in 1911
who then handed the business to his two sons who made it into what it is today.
Thorntons have released a wonderful Valentines range this year and we found it
difficult to pick what we wanted to feature in our gift guide. We decided to
opt for a small box of chocolates which would go beautifully with a bunch of
flowers as that little something extra. The box we chose to feature was the Hugs and Kisses Box (£3.49) filled with caramel and truffle chocolate hearts.
Beautifully presented in a heart shaped box, the chocolate is melt in your
mouth and the fillings luxurious and delicious.
Marks and Spencers never fail to come up with great gifts
for Valentine’s Day and this year has been no exception. We have chosen this
box of chocolates to feature as it stands out from the crowd as being somewhat
different. The Colour Burst Collection of Milk, Dark & White Chocolates (£15) comes in an
elegantly designed box of chocolates features pear and raspberry compotes
wrapped in a white chocolate shells, blackcurrant and apple compotes in dark
chocolate shells, strawberry and redcurrant compotes in milk chocolate shells
and lemon and lime compotes in intense dark chocolate shells. Now if that
combination of treats doesn’t have your mouth watering I don’t know what will!
The box comes beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and makes the perfect gift
got your loved one, they won’t be disappointed!

Butlers Chocolate is Ireland’s favourite luxury chocolatier
for over 80 years, being originally founded in Dublin in 1932 by Marion Butler
and then bought in 1959 by the Irish Sorensen family who still own 100% of the
business today. Butlers Chocolate takes pride in their heritage, even offering
the ‘Butlers Chocolate Experience’ which allows you to see behind those secret
chocolate factory doors. We have chosen
two different items from Butlers Valentine’s range to feature this year. The first box is our favourite as we haven’t
seen a box like this in recent years which makes this one stand out from a lot
of others. The Large Red Velvet Keepsake Heart (€16) Box is covered in red velvet! How
luxurious! The box comes beautifully presented including a bow is and packed
with 16 chocolates ranging from hazelnut truffle to lemon sorbet, something for
all tastes. The second box we have chosen to feature is the Valentine’s Heart Tin Assortment (€13.50) which is a beautifully designed tin with
scrolling detail on the outside. The tin is filled to the brim with 19
delicious chocolates including lemon, mixed berry and chocolate truffle. We
love both these products as both boxes/tins can be kept to keep those precious
memories in.
